{"id":35,"date":"2021-10-23T18:04:59","date_gmt":"2021-10-23T18:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/drkhezrian\/en\/?p=35"},"modified":"2021-12-31T12:38:07","modified_gmt":"2021-12-31T12:38:07","slug":"duodenal-jejunal-bypass-with-sleeve-gastrectomy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/duodenal-jejunal-bypass-with-sleeve-gastrectomy\/","title":{"rendered":"Duodenal-jejunal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Duodenal-jejunal bypass brings an acceptable glycemic control when added to sleeve gastrectomy in Duodenal-jejunal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy.<!--more-->This approach combines the principles and advantages of sleeve gastrectomy and a duodenal switch.There is not enough reported evidence following DJB-SG in diabetic patients with BMI less than 30.<br \/>\nThe aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of DJB-SG on type 2 diabetes remission in patients with BMI less than 30.<br \/>\nIn this study we did DJB-SG for 20 patients who suffered from type 2 diabetes with BMI less than 30.All patients had a normal fasting c- peptide with acceptable post prandial c-peptide rising (>20% rise) in our private hospital from October 2016 to October 2018.<br \/>\nComplication rates,weight loss,and remission of diabetes and co-morbidities were evaluated and analyzed at 1,3,6 and 12 month after surgery.<br \/>\nTwenty diabetic patients were entered the study,12 males and 8 females,while 11 of them were insulin dependent.Mean age was 48.7 \u00b1 10.3 years,and the duration of diabetes was 10.5 \u00b1 9.3 months.<br \/>\nEvaluation of the results preoperative and 12 months after surgery:BMI 28.4 \u00b1 1.8 vs 23.8 \u00b1 1.7 kg\/m2,fasting plasma glucose (FPG) 156.9 \u00b1 31.2 vs. 95.7 \u00b1 6 mg\/dL, HbA1c 8.26 \u00b1 1.8 vs 6.1 \u00b1 0.7%,were all statistically significant (p value < 0.05).\nThis study showed, combining duodenal switch with sleeve gastrectomy is highly effective in control of diabetes and metabolic syndrome in non-obese patients (BMI < 30).Further evaluation on more cases with longer follow-ups is essential.\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><!--more-->For Download click the link below.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/DJB-SG-copy.pdf\" class=\"btn btn-lg btn-danger\">Download PDF<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Duodenal-jejunal bypass brings an acceptable glycemic control when added to sleeve gastrectomy in Duodenal-jejunal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":79,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-35","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-articles"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=35"}],"version-history":[{"count":8,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":108,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35\/revisions\/108"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/79"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=35"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=35"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/drkhezrian.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=35"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
